Sweet monkeys in the smallest zoo in Germany on the Baltic Sea!
In Germany's smallest zoo on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom there is happy growth! On October 1, a delightful dwarf silk cheek saw the light of day. The tiny animal weighed only 30 to 35 grams at birth and only measures three centimeters from the head to the fuselage. Zoo boss Bernd Thews revealed that the young monkey can already be seen actively on his mother Mucki's back. She is three years old and got her first child with the four -year -old Papa Poppi, who comes from Linz.
The birth was the result of a long waiting time. Poppi came to the zoo shortly before the start of Corona pandemic, and the couple took time to find themselves. Now the zoo employees are looking forward to further monkeys, possibly already at the next Easter. "We hope to welcome babies again next year," says Thews. In addition to the dwarf silk chops, there were also youngsters at the white -minded monsters: twins were born there on September 19. The tropical bansin is open 365 days a year so that fans of the animal births can experience them live. Details on the admission prices and opening times can be found on the zoo website.
