Truck accident on A6: Driver gets in an inclined position-luck in misfortune!

In the night of October 11, 2024, around 2:30 a.m., a serious truck accident occurred on the A6 in the direction of Saarbrücken near Wattenheim. A 67-year-old driver from Neunkirchen lost control of his 40-ton truck, who came off the road, slipped over an embankment and landed on a field. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. The mushy floor prevents greater damage and the rescue work.

A special crane with a load capacity of 100 tons was used to free the vehicle from the predicament. While the rescue work is continued, traffic on the A6 in this area is severely restricted, with just one lane that remains free. The Ruchheim motorway police examine the cause of the accident, with the first indications of carelessness or fatigue interpret. The slippery surface could also have played a role.
