Recycling and wastewater fees: Siegerland pays significantly more!

The citizens in North Rhine-Westphalia have to dig deep into their pockets for the garbage and wastewater fees. The city of Freudenberg has the highest wastewater fee in North Rhine -Westphalia with 5.37 euros per cubic meter, while Siegen cuts the cheapest with 2.42 euros. The loads for wastewater have increased due to a change in the law that enables longer interest rate of equity. In municipalities such as Burbach, the fees have risen sharply, from 2.62 to 3.06 euros per cubic meter of dirty water, which means a significant additional burden for households.

In the area of garbage disposal, Hilchenbach is the most expensive city in the Siegerland, where households have to pay 324.40 euros annually. While some municipalities, such as Burbach and Netphen, have reduced their garbage fees, others such as victories and Neunkirchen have significantly increased prices. On average, families in Siegen-Wittgenstein pay EUR 264.01 for garbage disposal, which is above the national average. The Federation of Taxpayers calls for uniform waste disposal in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district to make the fees more fairly, www.wp.de reports .
