Weltladen Neunkirchen: Finally back and better than ever!

After months of uncertainty, the world shop in Neunkirchen has been shining in new splendor since July! The volunteers have moved into the former primary school on Kölner Strasse and now offer a wide selection of fairly traded products - from delicious chocolate to exotic bananas. After the closure of their old sales room on Bahnhofstrasse due to the termination of their own use by the landlord, the operators were very concerned about being forgotten by the audience. But the customers are back, and the first sales figures at the new location exceed the expectations!

The new address has proven to be a stroke of luck. By increased walking customers, possibly due to the opposite construction site, people flock into the shop. "We have a lot more walk -in customers here," says Dorothee Schumann, the chairwoman of the world shop. The past farmers and Ökomarkt also ensured additional influx. But while the mood floats at a high level, one question remains open: the current rental contracts only apply to a year, which forces the operators to keep an eye on the situation until a permanent solution is found.
