Alison Moyet: Why fame is a curse for the singer

Alison Moyet, the British singer known for her hit "All Croied Out", has clearly spoken out against the pop star Ruhm. In an interview with the German Press Agency, the 63-year-old explained that she preferred to withdraw from the public. "The problem with the fame is that I am recognized by people who are not interested in my music," she said. Moyet emphasizes that she prefers an inconspicuous life and that as an artist, she prefers to get in direct contact with her audience instead of just living for fame and recognition.

Moyet, who celebrated the first success in the 1980s as part of Yazoo, remains true to her artistic ideal. She only sings the songs with which she can identify and, for example, has not performed her hit “Invisible” live for over 30 years. Her upcoming album "Key" will contain new interpretations of her songs from the 40-year-old solo career, all of which have to correspond to your aesthetic feeling. The singer plans to go back to tour in 2025 after a long break, to establish an honest connection to her audience, reports www.onetz.de .
