Mayor praises Tafel Abensberg: A model of solidarity!

Mayor Dr. Bernhard Resch visited the Tafel Abensberg to find out about the valuable work of the association. In Abensberg and Neustadt/Donau, around 150 to 170 in need and around 120 children are taken care of every week. In order to organize the necessary food, the helpers are rising over 30 shops in the region, including in cities such as Nuremberg and Munich. Association chairman Rudolf Buchner emphasized that the board almost without waiting lists, in contrast to other cities. These successes are based on the willingness to donate of the local community and the commitment of the active members, which are majority at the age of 60 to 85.

Despite all the challenges, the board experiences a positive upswing, and Dr. Resch praised the high motivation of the approximately 180 members. Repairs are currently taking place in the main building, including the exchange of windows and doors. Buchner informed that the association is always looking for new active members to meet the steadily growing need.
