Neustadt pulls the hat off Oliver Beckmann! After 15 years as a sought -after pastor of the Protestant collegiate church community, this charismatic pastor says goodbye to a new, exciting challenge. The chapter, who started at the end of September, is shaped by a mixture of melancholy and curiosity - because Beckmann becomes a prison pastor in the Frankenthal correctional facility!

Beckmann himself describes his term as a real “decathlon”. His versatile tasks re -span everything that has to do with human accompaniment: from baptism, the first holy communion to consolation in difficult times. He shaped the community life in Neustadt with his commitment and passion.

The voices of the parishioners become loud when they think back to the past. "He was always there for us," said the words of many creditors. Beckmann's engagement in youth work and his creative way of also tackling difficult topics have sharpened the trust in his community.
