Haßloch. The bird park in Haßloch, a popular destination for nature lovers, faces a challenge: a recently occurred storm has overturned several trees and thereby temporarily closed the park. The association for protection and care of local and foreign birds, which operates the park, is now urgently looking for volunteers to carry out the necessary recovery work. On September 28, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the project "We create what", which should enable committed citizens to actively help and at the same time spend unforgettable hours in nature.

The association was founded in 1953 and can look back on a long tradition. Over the years, he has not only built a club home, but also created a restaurant, workshop and various rooms for youth work. In particular, the adverse weather conditions of the past few months, such as the heavy rains in July 2024, have seriously affected the park.

The board of directors of the association has found that about 100 meters of new fence had to be built after a fallen tree has damaged the existing fence. In order to carry out the work and ensure security in the park, the closure of the site has become inevitable. At the same time, this signals the urgency of the helping helping hands.

The project "We create what" offers a total of 20 places, of which 14 are currently still available. The association encourages anyone who is interested and does not have to bring any special skills to join these joint work. The areas of responsibility include setting up new fences and aviaries, repair work and tidying up remains of the floods, such as wood and leaves.
