shocking incident in Elkenroth: After an accident, the driver escapes under the influence of alcohol
A tragic incident occurred on Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Elkenroth, which shook the minds of the residents. A 44-year-old driver of a Dacia Lodgy caused an accident at a petrol station that had devastating consequences due to its strong alcoholization.
After the driver had taken care of a bottle of beer, he decided to drive backwards and turn. He bumped into a steel beam with the rear of his vehicle that lined the washing hall. The rear window of the Dacia dismantled, so that considerable damage to property was caused. Instead of taking responsibility, however, the driver moved away from the scene of the accident without reporting the damage.
The police initiated the investigation through intensely used search measures and was able to find the fleeting Dacia. When the 44-year-old driver was checked, an alcohol test resulted in a frighteningly high value of 2.33 per thousand. For this reason, a blood sample was taken and his driver's license was ensured to prevent further dangers.
This incident illustrates the impending consequences of alcohol consumption at the wheel and reminds us all of how important it is to take responsibility and adhere to valid laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
