Climate Course in Linz: New ways of sustainable environmental protection
The threat from increasing floods and heavy rain events from climate change has become noticeable in Linz. However, the community has reacted and successfully completed a climate course in order to be prepared for the challenges of the future.
The six course evenings from April to June were led by experts such as Wilfried Hausmann and supporters such as Janine Sieben, Angeline Zahn, Andrea Schlüter and Cecilia Vargas Arias. In addition, national climate researchers brought their findings into the course in order to convey a comprehensive picture of climate change to the participants.
At the handover of the certificate, Simone Kirst, head of the KVHS Neuwied, praised the commitment and level of knowledge of the participants. Many of them are already active as multipliers and now want to bring their knowledge more in the municipality of Linz. It was decided to organize further meetings in order to promote the exchange and plan joint measures. Andrea Schlüter will initiate a follow -up meeting to strengthen the networking of the actors. The climate-fitting course in Linz has shown that municipalities and individuals can actively do something about climate change. The protection of our environment becomes a common task through education and networking, which everyone can tackle together. The successful completion of the course is an important step on the way to a more sustainable future.
