Lifeguard honored: First aiders show civil courage in the event of an accident!

In a serious traffic accident on the K34 between Gartow and Nienwalde, two brave first aiders, Moritz Kleinschmidt and Tobias Hinrichs, provided immediate help and thus saved a life. The driver of a car was seriously injured and trapped when the two young men were the first to arrive at the scene of the accident. Their quick action was now recognized by the Gartow fire brigade with a special honor, which included a coin and a certificate in which its exemplary commitment was praised.

The honor took place in the Gartow fire brigade and was supported by the employers of the first aiders, Fried Graf von Bernstorff and Jacob Voelkel. Count von Bernstorff underlined the importance of civil courage today, while Voelkel expressed thanks and respect for the two men. Kleinenschmidt and Hinrichs modestly emphasized that their actions were intuitive and hope to inspire others to do courageously in similar situations. Their actions show that everyone can become a lifesaver in an emergency.
