Theater-AG of the Max Planck Gymnasium: Dystopia meets the future!
On March 5, 2025, the Theater-AG of the Max Planck High School celebrated its premiere with its staging “2089-The Analogue Revolt”. The piece addresses a future in which technology dominates everyday life and every protagonist carries a so-called "bed box" around the neck that decreases the thinking of the users. The staging combines dystopic elements with realistic approaches and thus stimulates skepticism and curiosity, such as "https://www.dk-online.de/lokales/delmenhorst/artikel/ki-regier-d-des-maxe-dreist-jahr-2089-48439363" Class = "Source_1" Target = "_ blank" rel = "noopener noreferrer"> dk-online.de reported.
Before the performances of the Theater-AM-MPG, which opens annually on four evenings in March, the pupils will cook for everyone present every Wednesday evening. After eating together, rehearsals take place. The various working groups such as theater, stage design and technology AG work hand in hand on the staging. Great importance is placed on the selection of artistically interesting pieces, whereby rarer works are preferred, such as Theater-Mpg.de emphasized.
rehearsals and creative cooperation
The rehearsal process begins in September and includes improvisations and experiments to approach the piece. A casting determines the line-up after a certain time, followed by position and scene samples that include acting exercises and improvisations. In winter there is a stay of several days in the Academy for Theater and School Art in Bad Rotenfels to intensify the preparations. An intensive rehearsal phase will begin from January, which takes place both Wednesdays and Sundays.
In addition, light and sound techniques, stage design, costumes and props are used to design the piece. The premiere is celebrated on a special framework, culinary framed by Hugi Hugl. In the management of the Theater-AM-MPG, Ingo Lieb took responsibility in the school year 23/24, while Melanie Hong and Achim Bergemann led the AG from 2017 to 2022. The technical area, in particular light and sound, is looked after by Jan Würthwein, and Katrin Fuchsloch was responsible for the artistic and pedagogical direction until 2021.
