In Göttingen, numerous people have been standing in front of the Sparkasse ATMs on the market square in long lines since the end of January. The reason for the extended waiting times is the defect of the two ATMs that are installed outside on the north side of the old town hall. These were damaged by vandalism; So the displays were destroyed with a pointed object.
Sparkasse spokesman Frank Sikora confirmed that the repair of the machines has already been commissioned. Spare parts for the necessary repair are also ordered. However, it remains unclear when the work can actually be carried out, as this depends on the delivery time of the spare parts.
