Violent attack at the meeting in Göttingen - witnesses wanted!

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, there was an incident in Göttingen during a registered demonstration with around 100 participants under the motto "Hands Off Palestine & Lebanon". Around 5:20 p.m., a group approached demonstrators when two unknown men violently snatched an Israel flag.

The police reacted promptly and initiated several criminal proceedings for robbery, assault and breach of the peace. Videos of the incident are circulating on social media that clearly show one of the suspects. The Göttingen police are asking witnesses who were at the forecourt at the time of the incident and can provide information about the perpetrators to report on 0551 491-2115.
