Police raise the alarm: Massive controls against autoposists on Good Friday!
On Good Friday, the police in Lower Saxony plans to control increased controls of car pods in order to punish speed violations and non -approved vehicle changes. The measures focus on cities such as Braunschweig, Gifhorn, Goslar, Salzgitter and Göttingen. In addition, tuning control groups in the Lüneburg, Celle, Harburg, Heidekreis, Lüchow-Dannenberg, Rotenburg, Uelzen and Stade. These groups were particularly trained in the area of the autoposis and tuning scene to ensure safety in road traffic.
A positive aspect is the collaboration with the tuning scene in Uelzen, which is funded by the establishment of a working group. In Bremen, targeted control measures are also carried out in the Überseestadt. The police use modern measuring devices, video skills, civilian emergency services and speed cameras to effectively measure violations. The expected violations on Good Friday include illegal tuning, forbidden car racing, excessive crying of engines and driving around without a good reason.
reinforcements also in Baden-Württemberg
The police also announced similar measures in Baden-Württemberg. Here, Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) announced increased controls to combat posing and illegal tuning. During the so-called “Car Friday”, car fans gather in typical places to present their vehicles, which the police perceive as a potential risk to road traffic and the safety of the population. The police set a clear sign against rule violations, with the vehicle owners threatening consequences, such as the expiry of the operating license and fines.
In recent years, the police have already carried out extensive controls. Around 1,300 vehicles were checked over the years 2022 to 2024, with over 350 violations being determined. In 2024, over 15,000 controlled vehicles and 6,629 violations were documented, while 1,246 vehicles were also pulled out of circulation. In various cities, such as singing, accumulations of more than five vehicles are prohibited from Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday.
In addition to the police presence, the Mannheim traffic inspection is planning special focus controls. For the upcoming tuning World Lake Constance, which begins on May 1st, it is emphasized that you can distance yourself from razors and posers. The Association of Automobile Tuner (VDAT) has registered about 3 million vehicles in Germany with optical tuning and has the campaign "Tune IT! Safe!" launched to sensitize to safe tuning.
