Horror find in Bad Iburg: 47 neglected dogs live in misery!

In Bad Iburg in the Osnabrück district, 47 neglected dogs were saved from an empty house. The animals were in a catastrophic condition and were liberated by the veterinary office after a citizen alerted the police on the basis of Bellen, such as ndr reported. The tenants of the house had left the building in mid -February without taking care of the animals. At first it was difficult to assess the age of the dogs because many of them had already lost teeth.

Anita Hartner from the animal welfare organization Gut Aiderbichl expressed that the grooming of the rescued dogs is now a priority. In many cases, the fur must be shaved up to two millimeters to make injuries or inflammation visible. A team of volunteers takes care of the animals that were not sufficiently supplied with food and water and partly lived from wallpaper, furniture and their own droppings. It is particularly worrying that some animals could no longer run properly and suffered many of the eye and teeth. There are also pregnant animals among the rescued dogs. Investigations against the alleged owners are already underway.
