In the years 2020 and 2021, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, two additional astronomy days took place in October with a focus on online events. From 2022 to 2024 the day was held in autumn, but it will return to spring in 2025.
At the Astronomy Day, various events across Germany are also available for all interested parties, coordinated by the Association of Sternfreunde e.V. in the evening the Planet Jupiter and Mars are visible in the west sky, which makes the event a special experience for hobby astronomers and star lovers. The astronomical event is accompanied by an abundance of information and activities, which makes the day accessible to families and the general public.
