PSG lets Bernat pull: Kolo Muani changes to Juventus!
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has decided to dissolve Juan Bernat's contract to enable Randal Kolo Muani to be a loan transfer to Juventus Turin. This was announced on January 24, 2025. The 31-year-old Bernat has been part of the club since 2018 and has acted as a regular in recent years. His loan to Villarreal came before, but PSG found that they had exhausted their contingent of loan players last summer.
The immediate termination of the Bernat contract was taken as a necessary measure to transfer Kolo Muani to Turin for the rest of the season. The loan contract for Kolo Muani includes a fee of 1 million euros ($ 1.04 million) and possible power -related additional payments of up to 4.6 million euros. As part of the deal, there is no option or obligation to buy Kolo Muani.
The role of Kolo Muani at PSG and Juventus
Kolo Muani, who switched to PSG for five years in the summer of 2023, has played 54 games so far in the current season, scored 11 goals and gave 7 templates. This season he scored two goals in Ligue 1 in 10 missions, but he was not appointed to the squad in the last games of PSG against Lyon and Monaco. His prehistory also includes a successful time at Nantes and Frankfurt, where he scored 16 goals in 34 league games.
Overall, Kolo Muani has played 27 caps for France and was part of the squad at the World Cup 2022 and the European Championship 2024. Juventus is currently in fifth place in Serie A and has so far been undefeated in the league, but has played 13 out of 21 games.
Daniel Riolo honored Bernat in the program "After Foot" on RMC Sport and described him as "very, very good player" who showed excellent performance during his time at the PSG.
