Closing of clothes in Nordenham: Sustainable fashion for a good cause!

On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the second clothing for women takes place in Nordenham. The event is organized by Viola Buller, her daughter Maya Buller and Kerstin Eppler and begins at 5 p.m. in Clap Tzu, Located at Nordseestrasse 7, access over the back entrance of the Kuboth furniture store. The aim of this initiative is to keep clothing in the circulation and to prevent throwing away.

In addition, snacks are provided, organized by Birgit Besch, and a drinks stand are looked after by women from the Lions Club Emy Rogge Wesermarsch. The proceeds from the event should benefit the Child Protection Association in order to enable children to participate in swimming courses. Last year, a similar event were able to collect around 600 euros for the daily stay for homeless people in Nordenham and the animal shelter in Volkers.

Maya Buller, which has already organized similar events in Hamburg, where up to 500 women often take part, the Aaredress company has also founded, the goal of which is to promote slow fashion. The exchange of clothes should not only serve as a platform for the exchange of clothing, but also act as a social meeting point for women. It is planned to establish the event in Nordenham twice a year, in spring and autumn. There is also the possibility to expand the target group to men, which is already considered for autumn 2023.

Another clothing exchange takes place in the silver arbor of the FU Berlin, which aims at the promotion of sustainable fashion and upcycling. A motivated team is being sought to continue the project and participants can look forward to the opportunity to make new contacts and exchange ideas for sustainable fashion. The first clothing exchange appointments are scheduled for the 2nd and July 3, 2025.
