On September 1, 2024, a colorful event took place in Schleswig-Holstein, which celebrated the enthusiasm for sport. Winterbeker Weg turned into a pulsating center for sports lovers of all ages, especially for the diving sports community. The “Day of Sports” once again put the passion and fun of diving in the foreground this year and offered many the opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating underwater world.

Already on Saturday the preparations for the event began, in which numerous helpers set up the changing tent and a new swimming pool area. With the dimensions of 5 × 9 meters, the pool was large enough to offer interested participants the opportunity to dive. In particular, the new bull eyes on the sides of the pelvis ensured an exciting perspective on what is happening in the water.

on Sunday, already before 8 a.m., the first guests flocked to the Rudi Gauch Halle. The square was characterized by a hustle and bustle, while the diving sport regional association Schleswig-Holstein (TLV-SH) set up its status. In addition to various attractions such as playing chess and bouncy castles, it was in particular the clear water and the bright sun that attracted numerous young water enthusiasts. The excitement and the anticipation of diving were felt everywhere.

A special attraction was the corner of the science and environmental protection team. Here the visitors were presented impressive show copies of mussels and seacondors. Aquariums filled with lively marine dwellers, including beach crabs and shrimp, and even two ribs could be admired. At the microscope provided, guests were also able to look at the fascinating details of the Baltic Sea ecosystem.

In advance, the helpers of the TLV-SH were already busy equipping the newly interested divers with bathing clothes and diving masks. However, many families were already well prepared, ready for the exciting, cool water. The warm water and the professional supervision of the experienced training team from Kiel ensured that visitors could certainly immerse themselves in the depths of the pool. This unique experience enriched the day of sport and offered the young participants the opportunity to experience the joy of diving up close.

In the lunchtime, the number of visitors grew rapidly at the pool, and long queues formed, while the excitement increased. It was particularly impressive to see how many children proudly went home with their documents for the dive. These memories will certainly remain in your memory for a long time and promote enthusiasm for sport.

The day ended as a complete success, supported by the great commitment of the Kiel diving clubs such as Duc Kiel, Kiel diving group, TSG Submarin and Tuk. Many thanks go to all helpers whose motivation and enthusiasm made this day unforgettable. The anticipation for the next event is already noticeable, and there is hope that many of the small diving friends will continue to experience the fascination of diving with enthusiasm.
