Waabs celebrates volunteering: Klaus Andresen and Elke Grothe!

In Waabs, the community recently awarded Klaus Andresen and Elke Grothe for their decades of voluntary work. At a well -attended reception in the Waabser Mühle, the deputy mayor Christian Netz thanked the volunteers, who significantly contribute to the good of the community. Andresen, 73, which is active in various functions for SV Schwansen, and Grothe, 83, who has lived in Waabs since 2000 and founded the church choir, among other things, received the Waubser coat of arms and a bouquet for their merits.

Andresens tireless work in youth work and grothes commitment as a reading room in primary school were particularly emphasized. Both emphasized how important it is to do something for the community. In retrospect for the past year, the almost completely resolved damage to the storm surge of 2023 was pointed out, while a musical performance by Inge Lorenzen created the right mood.
