Aachen tragedy: Police are looking for witnesses for a severe knife attack on young people

Roermonder Straße, 52070 Aachen, Deutschland - On August 19, 2023, a 14-year-old youth in Aachen was the victim of a brutal attack, which is considered an attempted manslaughter. The incident occurred between 5:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of an erotic shop on Roermonder Straße when the boy was sitting on a wall with friends after visiting the "Öcher Bend". Suddenly a group of three unknown perpetrators approached, one of whom was armed with a knife.

In panic the group fled, but the 14-year-old stayed behind, hidden next to a car at the traffic light. Despite an apparently visible eye contact to the driver who continued, the boy found no protection - the attackers came back and attacked him brutally. The young person suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. The police and the public prosecutor's office in Aachen are now looking for witnesses to identify the perpetrators and to advance the investigation.
