Federal police thwarted lock: driver flees, is stopped!

On Wednesday afternoon, the federal police successfully thwarted a potential smuggling at the Tunnel rest area on Autobahn 44. A 55-year-old Afghan, who had traveled with several inmates from Belgium, noticed the officials when he tried to flee at high speed. Despite his rapid journey, the police took up the persecution and finally stopped the vehicle shortly before the Tunnel rest area.

Serious suspicions were found during the check: In addition to suspicion of the smuggling and unauthorized entry, the driver also found that he was traveling without a valid driving license. All people were brought to Eschweiler, where the further investigation was initiated.
