Large deployment of the Bochum fire brigade: Several people from burning house saved!

On Monday night, a fire broke out in a ground floor apartment on Höntroper Straße shortly before midnight. A caller alerted the fire brigade, who quickly arrived on site and immediately started rescue people in the building while the alarm level was increased. Residents on the upper floors were in danger because the hallway was heavily smoky.

The emergency services saved several people, including two with escape hoods, and were also able to free a cat from the flames. Fortunately, the resident of the fire apartment could get to safety in good time. A total of six people were transported to the hospital with smoke poisoning. The Bochum fire brigade was in use with 44 emergency services, supported by the volunteer fire brigade to extinguish the fire and bring the situation under control.
