An 83-year-old driver from Detmold experienced a tragic event on Monday afternoon when he had a dog on Nordstrasse with his Mercedes. The incident occurred around 12.30 p.m. after two deer ran across the street, persecuted by an obviously abandoned dog. Despite immediate braking, a collision could not be prevented; The animal apparently contracted injuries and then ran away.

After the incident, however, the dog was no longer found. An unsuccessful search in the surrounding area was unsuccessful, and so far no owner of the dog has been determined.
