Fires and chaos in Essen: suspect after attack on ex-wife arrested!

In a shocking incident in Essen-Alteressen, a 41-year-old man deliberately set fire to two shops on Saturday evening (September 28th) and raced in two shops with a delivery van. Witnesses reported that the aggressor, equipped with fire accelerators and stabbing weapons, targeted the apartments and shops that are inhabited by supporters of his wife. His deeds seem to have been motivated from despair about the separation of his wife.

The fire brigade immediately moved and was able to extinguish the fires quickly, which saved numerous residents. Nevertheless, many people were injured and are still in inpatient treatment in various hospitals. The 41-year-old, who is already known for threat and property damage, was arrested near the crime scene. He is currently not commenting on the allegations, while the police investigation continue.
