Soest fire brigade uses Hightech against fire danger in emergency vehicles

The fire brigade city of Soest is preparing itself with the latest technology against the increasing risk of fire of its own emergency vehicles. In recent years, fires or almost fires in fire engines have increased, which endangers the operational readiness. In order to counteract this risk, the fire brigade has decided to equip all vehicles with an innovative interior monitoring system that consists of photoelectric smoke detectors. This technology alerts the emergency services in seconds about the existing infrastructure if a fire breaks out.

The system was specially developed for use in fire engines and goes beyond conventional smoke detectors. It takes into account the special conditions and requirements in vehicle operation. Safe Fire House, the company behind the technology, reports of growing interest from fire brigade circles all over Germany, since a significant part of the fire brigades in the past five years have been in front of a fire or almost fire in their vehicles. In the future, the company plans to expand monitoring technology to burglary warning systems in order to make fire station even safer.
