Looking for an accident: Pedelec drivers jump off with a rolling tire!

On Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2024, a traffic accident occurred in the Friedrich-Ebert-Ring/Heinrich-Lübke-Straße area in Rheine, in which an 81-year-old pedelec driver was injured. The older man wanted to turn to the Friedrich Ebert-Ring when a car tire suddenly loosened from a car trailer and recovered to him. In order to escape the approaching tire, the 81-year-old jumped from his pedelec and was slightly injured.

The driver of the white car with a trailer, however, moved freely from the scene of the accident towards Osnabrücker Straße without complying with his obligations. Despite an immediately initiated search by the police, the perpetrator has so far remained undetected. The police are now asking for clues to the incident and the fleeting driver, who are accepted on 05971/938-4215 at the guard in Rheine.
