Traffic collapse in Nuremberg: Tips for stress-free arrival on DTM races and large concerts

dtm and music festivals at the Norisring: Arrival and park

While the DTM drivers will compete at the Norisring this weekend at high speed, large concerts by artists such as Peter Fox and Save the Core (including Bad Religion) are on the program in the Stadium Park. The simultaneous event of two major events ensures a real rush in Nürnberg -especially around the stadium and the dozendteich. Since the parking spaces could become scarce, careful planning of the journey is essential.

The organizers of the Stadionpark Open Air concerts have already pointed out the potential shortage of parking space in advance and therefore recommend traveling by public transport. The road closures around the Norisring in particular make access to the car difficult. In general, the S3 line is ideal to get to the Frankenstein quickly and easily. Additional special trips on the event days are another efficient way to reach the event area. From there it is only a few minutes' walk both to the Norisring and the stage in the stadium park.

Alternatively, concert and racing fans can use tram lines 6, 8 or 10 to get to the event location from the city center. The DUTZENDTEICH and DOKU-Center stops are available as exit points. However, note that the footpath on the northeast side of the dozend pond is closed because of the DTM. An alternative access leads along the congress hall via the Große Straße to the stadium park.

For visitors who still want to travel by car, there are parking spaces nearby, such as the Große Straße, the exhibition parking spaces including the parking garage and the parking lot at the Meistersingerhalle. Free shuttle buses connect the parking spaces on the Große Straße with the racetrack, while the footpath to the Stadionpark stage is only a short route away.

An important tip by the organizer is to pay attention to the traffic control system when looking for a parking space, which leads them to free parking space. An early and well-planned arrival not only increases the chances of a parking lot, but also gives enough time to enjoy both the DTM races at the Norisring and the thrilling concerts in the stadium park. We wish all visitors an eventful and smooth event weekend!
