Small heroes of the GDR: New exhibition in the Senftenberger Museum
Schlossstraße, 01968 Senftenberg, Deutschland - In the Museum Schloss und Fortress Senftenberg, the new special exhibition “The Children's Room in the GDR” will open on October 31, 2024. The exhibition illuminates the unique yet similar childhood memories of the GDR. Visitors can discover nostalgic highlights, from toys to books to the establishment of classic children's rooms from the 1960s to 1980s. This review shows impressively how the room children's room has developed since the 1970s - a place for games, learning and creativity.
In addition to exhibits, the little guests can become active: You can puzzle and design at various hands -on stations, as well as create your own comic. An adventure management "Mutti clears up" will also take place on December 13, 2024, in which visitors can experience the children's room up close. The exhibition can be seen in the large castle hall until March 2, 2025 and thus offers a comprehensive insight into the children's world of the GDR, with a variety of classic toys and school materials that shaped childhood.
