Björn Simon: CDU candidate from Obertshausen fights for the Offenbach constituency

The CDU member of the Bundestag Björn Simon is striving for a renewed candidacy for the Offenbach constituency in the elections next year. The Obertshausener has been a member of the Bundestag with a direct mandate since 2017. Simon, who is rooted in the region and already worked as a city councilor in Obertshausen, was unanimously proposed by the CDU district associations for the renewed candidacy. The official nomination will take place on November 16, and so far he has no opponent. However, the Green candidate Tarek Al-Wazir will be the only potential opponent in the Bundestag election.

In his political agenda, Simon emphasizes central issues such as internal and external security, reduction in bureaucracy as well as social issues such as civil allowance and pension. With an Union's election victory under Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz, he hopes to replace the current traffic light government and to rule with a coalition of two under CDU/CSU leadership. Simon criticized the efficiency of the current government and called for a return to a respectful and productive political dialogue.
