An unforgettable adventure: Kolping tent camp inspires in Schutterwald
The tent camp in Schutterwald, which was recently held, not only offered an exciting week for the participating children and adolescents, but also illuminates the importance of such events for the community. Here adventures meets socialization and commitment of young adults.
an unforgettable experience for the children
A total of 30 children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 17 experienced an exciting week in the Kolping tent camp, which took place on the Harter-Hof in Schenkenzell. They were looked after by 15 adults who took care of security and leisure activities. The gratifying aspect of these events is the opportunity for the children to close new friendships and develop social skills while immersing them in nature at the same time
tent camp as a tradition and community event
The organization of the tent camp was not an easy undertaking. Martin Zeil, the chairman, took responsibility for the search for a suitable place and finally found a solution that allowed to continue the concept that was more than 50 years old. "Something like that is no longer a matter of course these days," emphasized Zeil. These efforts show how important it is to preserve traditions and integrate new generations into such community projects.
insight into the preparations
Already on Wednesday before the start of the summer vacation, the Vorpupp set off to build ten large tents. This team ensured that everything was ready for the arrival of the participants. Among those present were the newly elected young colting managers Marlon Suhm and Paula Herrmann, who, despite their inexperience, were supported by a routine team in this large scale. "The daily food must be bought, and the safety of the warehouses must be taken care of," said Herrmann and illustrated the diverse responsibilities that were on the shoulders of the head.
The fun factor: games and raids
The tent camp offered a colorful program, including games, swimming pool visits and creative craft activities. A highlight of the week was the classic raids on the camp, in which the participants tried to capture the captured banners. "We were attacked every day," reported Herrmann and added that she and her team were always vigilant. These playful actions not only promote team spirit, but also offer space for creative thinking and developing strategies.
an emotional visit
A special moment occurred on Thursday when municipal officer Peter Panizzi visited the camp. He said goodbye with a service because he retired in September. Panizzi, which had often visited the camp in the past decades, expressed his joy about how young adults take responsibility for the next generation. "It is wonderful to see how committed people in our time are committed to the youth," he said and reflected on the strong community bond that arises in such a framework.
a positive conclusion
After a week full of experiences, the groups returned, including the "Happy Hippos" and the "wild chickens", healthy and happy. Martin Zeil praised the organizers and the team for their excellent work. "They made it really great," he added proudly. The return of the participants reflects the successes of the tent camp, which not only puts adventures, but also education and feeling of community.
