Serious work accident in Offenburg: construction workers injured in crane accident

At around 4:30 p.m.,

Last Wednesday, an unfortunate work accident in Offenburg, more precisely on Burdastraße, occurred on a construction site that is used for the extension of the Montessori School. During the work, a construction crane should move a long, heavy metal frame when it suddenly tipped over and hit a worker. It is a frame that was several meters long and an estimated 600 kilograms. The declining steel frame left a seriously injured craftsman that was trapped in the hip and leg area.

The rapid reaction of the colleagues on site was crucial. While the alarm was still running, the workers began to use a wheel loader to lift the frame and stabilize with wooden planks. This crisis -proof and prudent reaction helped to control the situation as quickly as possible. The Offenburg fire brigade finally had the task of raising the metal frame with a special vehicle crane. Through joint action, they managed to free the approximately 50 -year -old craftsman from his life -threatening situation.

rescue measures and medical care

After the man was saved from the predicament, a team of emergency doctors took care of his injuries. These were serious, which required immediate and extensive medical treatment. The injured worker was immediately taken to the local clinic, where he hopefully will now receive the necessary care so that he could hopefully recover again soon. The fire brigade was on site with a tool of 22 emergency services and six vehicles and worked for about an hour to carry out the rescue measures.

The exact circumstances of the accident are currently still unclear and are examined by the police. It remains to be seen which knowledge will bring to avoiding such incidents in the future.
