A 19-year-old Dutch was stopped by a customs patrol in Rhede last Thursday after the officials discovered 3.5 kilograms of illegal fireworks in his car during a routine check. Among the pyrotechnics found was also an unclassifiable grenade, which immediately alerted the defusing service of the Federal Police. The driver, who occurred nervously after the border crossing, had 31 class F4 signal missiles, for which a special import permit is required - but this was missing.
