Customs campaign in Oldenburg: 34 suspected cases of undeclared work discovered!
Almost 300 employees were checked for compliance with minimum wage regulations last week by customs officials from the Financial Control of the Upper Customs Labor of the main customs office of Oldenburg. In one of the largest cross-border test campaigns in the European Union, service companies in catering as well as cosmetics and hairdressing were examined in particular. The result: 34 suspected cases of undeclared work and minimum wage violations were uncovered.
In Cloppenburg, the customs officers came across an Asian employee in a catering business who could not show a valid residence permit. Despite the presentation of a settlement permit, it turned out that the man did not speak German and only found permission. This incident was handed over to the responsible immigration office, which now decides on the further steps.
