Mayor defend themselves against the closure of emergency practices in BW!
In one of 18 mayors to the Baden-Württemberg Minister of Health Manfred Lucha, the municipal representatives defend themselves against the planned closure of emergency practices in the region. The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVBW) has announced that it will reduce the number of emergency practices, including 17 institutions that are thus threatened by the closure. Eight practices were permanently closed in the course of the year, which triggers concern with the mayors.
The mayors criticize the new criteria of the KVBW to access the practices. In the future, 95 percent of the population should be able to get an emergency practice within 30 minutes, which is a massive disadvantage, especially for people without their own car. In addition, the municipal representatives require a quick intervention by the minister to ensure that medical care in their communities is not "driven onto the wall". In your letter, the concerns are condensed that the existing emergency service and on-call duty in the cities are faltering, the closures should actually be carried out.
