Increases in the diocese of Osnabrück: Those affected require more compensation!
The final report of the University of Osnabrück comes to an alarming result: Around 400 people were victims of sexual violence in the diocese of Osnabrück. These findings confirm earlier findings on duty violations of the diocese management, which were already shown in the interim report 2022. This shows that the diocese has long not met sufficiently. Some measures were implemented after the interim report, it remains unclear whether they are really sufficient to fix the deficits found, especially with regard to behavior towards those affected and the compensation practice.
Prof. Dr. Hans Schulte-Nölke, one of the project managers, expresses that progress can be seen in the reappraisal, but they remain behind the requirements of state courts. The diocese management is therefore exposed to massive criticism, and the question remains whether the measures taken will be sufficient. A comprehensive analysis of the Situation offers, among other things, a report on www.landundforst.de .
