Black-green in the federal government: Göring-Eckardt sees coalition as an opportunity!
Bundestag Vice President Katrin Göring-Eckardt has optimistically commented on the possibility of a black and green coalition at the federal level. In an interview with the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung", she explained that the Greens in various federal states successfully rule with the CDU and that it was encouraging to expand this model to the federal government. She pointed out that the current coalitions consisting of SPD and FDP found many many fulfilling and indicated that the CDU is faced with the challenge of finding their course. "The question is whether Friedrich Merz and Hendrik Wüst or Markus Söder prevail. That will decide in 2025," said Göring-Eckardt.
At the same time, there are disagreements within the CDU regarding a possible coalition with the Greens. CSU boss Markus Söder has threatened with a veto, while Merz is currently excluding such a collaboration, but not for all times. He made it clear that a fundamental course correction in the Greens' economic and environmental policy is needed in order to concretize such considerations. In the meantime, after the resignations of their two chairman Ricarda Lang and Omid Nouripour, the Greens could put a stronger focus on Economics Minister Robert Habeck as possible chancellor candidates href = "https://www.noz.de/deutschland-welt/tolikel/Goering-offen-fuer-fuer-schwarz-gruen-im-bund-47826315" target = "_ blank" rel = "nofollow noopener noreferer"> reports www.noz.de
