Record attacks on the Baltic Sea: hundreds of people defy wind and cold!
On New Year's Day, January 1, 2025, traditional baths, which were visited by several hundred participants, took place in the Grömitz and Dahme. Despite cool temperatures of only eight degrees and a water temperature of four degrees, people flooded. In Grömitz, 636 people took part in the bathing, while in Dahme 170 registrations were recorded despite the adverse weather conditions, which represents an increase compared to the previous year. Over 3000 spectators watched the action on the beach. Safety measures were guaranteed by the Grömitz fire brigade and the Johanniter from Eutin.

Despite the overwhelming participation, there were numerous cancellations of baths events in other regions of Schleswig-Holstein due to hurricane gusts of up to 110 km/h.
