The Paderborn community says goodbye to a committed helper

The Evangelical-Lutheran parish of Paderborn mourns the loss of the long-time pastor Annette Kohle , which died after a short, serious illness at the age of 69. With her tireless efforts, she shaped community life for almost 40 years and leaves a deep gap in the community.

Annette Kohle was born in Guben in Brandenburg in 1955 and grew up in a Protestant rectory in the former GDR. After studying theology in East Berlin, she came to West Germany in 1983. In Paderborn, she taught Protestant religious teaching at the St. Michael schools for over two decades. Due to her friendly and sensitive manner, she influenced many generations and brought her personal experiences into her lessons.

The design of school services was particularly important to her, and she volunteered in the Matthäus parish district of the parish. Later she moved to the parish district of Abdinghof and was a valuable employee in the presbytery there. Through her activities in the daycare sector and her commitment to ecumenical projects, she significantly shaped church life in Paderborn.

"Annette Kohle will be remembered as a happy, person -facing and binding personality. Their faith and acting were inseparable from each other," emphasizes Pastor Eckhard Düker. The entire community mourns the loss of such a loving and committed colleague.

The funeral service followed by a burial will take place on Tuesday, July 9, at 12:15 p.m. in the Dören cemetery. On this day, the Paderborn community will say goodbye to an extraordinary woman who has enriched the lives of many people and will remain unforgettable.
