The Bayer Giants and their 60 loyal fans traveled around 200 kilometers to prove themselves in a duel against the Gartenzaun24 Baskets Paderborn. After a short first half, in which Paderborn led with 43:40, the Giants turned up in the second half and won the game with a 74:72. Top scorer Sebastian broke with 22 points, while Donte Nichola's 17 points contributed. Fighting spirit and a strong defensive were the key to success, as coach Michael "Mike" Koch explained: "We had to ensure success in defense."
