Nobel Prize for Physics: Who are the winners this year?
On Tuesday it will be exciting in Stockholm, because the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announces this year's Nobel Prize winner in the field of physics. The announcement takes place at 11.45 a.m. at the earliest. Last year Ferenc Krausz, a physicist researched in Garching, as well as Pierre Agostini and Anne L’Huillier were awarded for their groundbreaking experiments. This work has given humanity new instruments for researching nuclear and molecular processes.
Already on Monday there was a great announcement: Nobel prices for physiology or medicine were awarded to US scientists Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun, for their crucial discoveries on Microrna and their role in gene regulation. Every Nobel Prize is endowed with 11 million Swedish crowns this year, which corresponds to almost 970,000 euros. The ceremonial award ceremony traditionally takes place on December 10th, the death of Alfred Nobel. There is more information about this here .
