Nieheim: Drunk drivers resolved the chase with the police

An incident in Nieheim caused excitement on the B252 on Thursday evening when a 49-year-old Steinheimer was involved in a chase with the police. The man tried to escape a police check and accelerated his vehicle to over 140 km/h in a 70s zone.

The police reacted promptly to stop the fleeting driver. However, this ignored all instructions and evaded on the hard shoulder. At high speed, he passed the control point in Nieheim and triggered the persecution by the police. The man was finally placed on the L616 near Steinheim-Bergheim when he broke his escape.

When checking, the police found that the Steinheimer was under the influence of alcohol and ordered a blood sample. Out of concern before a new drive under the influence of alcohol, not only the driver's license, but also the car key was withdrawn.

This incident again illustrates the dangers of drunkenness at the wheel and the consequences of ruthless behavior in road traffic. The police appealed to the responsibility of each individual to not endanger their own and the security of other road users.
