In Salzkotten, a traffic accident occurred on Tuesday evening, which indicates the dangers of inadequate attention in road traffic. Around 6:15 p.m., during a violent rain shower, there was a clash of two vehicles at the Thüler Feld intersection after a driver had disregarded the right of way.

The situation began when a 40-year-old woman drove the street on the Ewert towards Salzkotten with her Citroen C4. Despite the poor visibility, she decided to cross the intersection without paying attention to the right of way of the right VW Polo. This risky decision led to a frontal collision in which the ruthless driving behavior had consequences.

those involved and their injuries

In the Polo, a 29-year-old driver who was also affected by the collision was also affected. The impact was so violent that the right side of the Citroen was massively damaged. In addition to the driver, there were also four children between the ages of 1, 9, 11 and 11 and a 44-year-old passenger in the vehicle. While fortunately all the inmates of the VW Polo remained unharmed, the 44-year-old was less lucky from the Citroen. She suffered injuries and had to be taken to the hospital with an ambulance.

The rapid reactions of the emergency services were crucial. While the 44-year-old woman was treated, the property damage was enormous, with an estimate of around 20,000 euros on both vehicles. The police were quickly on site and found that both vehicles were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed.

such tragic accidents show the importance of mindfulness in road traffic, especially in adverse weather conditions. Heavy rains can not only affect the view, but also significantly reduce traffic safety. Drivers are well advised to be particularly careful and, if necessary, reduce their speed to avoid accidents.
