The effects of a dramatic chase in Vilshofen
In the night from July 13th to July 14th, a tragic incident occurred in Vilshofen that shocked the residents of the region. A suspected smuggler tried to escape the Bavarian police and caused a serious accident in which six passers -by were injured, some of them.
The dramatic persecution, which lasted more than 20 kilometers, ended in a dead end, where the fleeting driver was arrested by the officials of the Bavarian state police. When trying to bring the accused to the ground, two police officers suffered minor injuries.
The victims of the accident, four women and two men aged 11 to 21 from Lower Bavaria were brought to surrounding hospitals. Four of them suffered serious injuries and need medical treatment.
The 24-year-old Georgian is suspected of having illegally brought to Germany. These had no suitable travel documents and were under sometimes life -threatening conditions in his vehicle.
The Federal Police Inspection Passau heads the investigation in close cooperation with the Passau public prosecutor. The alleged smuggler is expected to be shown to the investigative judge on the same day.
The tragic incident in Vilshofen shows the devastating consequences of illegal immigration and smuggling. The safety of road users and compliance with the laws must be guaranteed to prevent such events in the future.
