Kitchen challenge: seniors and young people conjure up regional classics
In the municipality of Hutthurm there was an extraordinary cooking project that brought together seniors and young people. The initiative of the senior representative Eva Plöchinger organized a day on which experienced cooking professionals at the age of 65 passed on their knowledge to the young generation. This exchange not only promotes culinary knowledge, but also creates a valuable connection between the generations.
Cooking together as a bridge between the generations
The event took place in the well-equipped kitchen of the Hutthurm elementary and middle school. The young kitchen assistants were quickly divided into different stations and began to cook under the guidance of the elderly. The loving exchange led to a feeling of belonging together, while the kitchen fulfilled by tempting scents, such as the fresh blueberry compote, which Therese Bock conjured up with Michael.
delicious dishes and important lessons
In the course of the cooking, the seniors not only brought recipes to the participants, but also the importance of fresh, regional ingredients. Eva Plöchinger clarified that good preparation is essential for the success of a court. The young chefs learned that the use of spices and organic products is crucial for the taste and that you should use all the senses when cooking.
joy and team spirit in the kitchen
Under the distribution of other committed senior citizens such as Ulrike Kurz and Maria Stadler, traditional dishes such as apple strudel, potato soup and a delicious rice casserole were created. In addition to the preparation of the dishes, the festive blankets of the table were also part of the guests to offer the guests a special ambience. Maria Swoboda from the Hutthurmer Gartenbauverein supported the young people with creative ideas for table decoration.
a feast that is remembered
After the delicious meal was served, the participants were enthusiastic about their success. In addition to the senior citizens, the invited guests of honor also included Mayor Max Rosenberger and Marktin Manuela Rosenberger. The positive response after eating together meant that everyone present agreed: This special cooking project should be an integral part of the Hutthurmer gastronomy scene in the future.
sustainability and tradition
Every young cook received a lovingly designed cookbook with the recipes, designed by eleven -year -old Frieda Kutzer. This project not only shows the importance of cooking for the community, but also how traditional culinary skills can be passed on to the next generation. It is a step towards a sustainable and solidarity community that appreciates knowledge of cooking.
