Millions of bridge for bats: waste of taxes or necessity?

Pocking, Deutschland - A multi -million dollar project for bats causes excitement in the Passau district! In its new black book, the Federation of Taxpayers has put a costly bridge pillory, which was built via the future A94 motorway between Pocking and Bad Füssing. With costs between three to four million euros, the approximately 50 -meter -long bridge is celebrated as a safe transition for highly protected bats - but it is doubted whether the animals will fly over it at all. Nature conservation experts warn that bats prefer underpass and are not willing to cross streets.

The bridge should not only help the winged friends - a bike path is also planned. But the taxpayers' association is skeptical: there is already another bridge a hundred meters away. Is this project exposed as a senseless luxury? The discussion about the responsible handling of taxpayers has long since flared up. In the future, the monitoring will clarify whether the bats will use their own bridge. However, the financial burden for taxpayers remains a hot topic. You can find more about this here .
