In a tense auction marathon, North Sea fans bought 35 large beach chairs and five dog beach baskets in Norddeich. Despite the cloudy weather and rain showers, hundreds of curious viewers and registered bidders flocked to secure these coveted pieces. Ilona Eilts from the local tourism service reported 140 registered bidders - a clear increase compared to previous years.

The price for the much sought -after beach chair climbed to an impressive 450 euros, while the cheapest for 250 euros changed hands. These prices are a clear jump compared to the usual 100 to 200 euros of the past few years. Buyers even had to ensure the removal of the baskets, which caused some to take a trailer. Similar auctions were already held in St. Peter-Ording and Sylt, while an auction for December 30th is planned in Langeoog. Now the time -out in the winter quarters begins for the beach chairs before they are prepared for the next season.
