SC Cosmos Wedel celebrates the first season victory: 3-0 against Eintracht Lokstedt II
A great moment of joy for SC Cosmos Wedel: After a difficult start phase in the current season, the “Cosmonauten” finally managed to win their first victory. The team had only had to accept defeats in the first four games in the district league, including a particularly disappointing 0: 9 against TuS Germania Schnelsen. But on Sunday, in the fifth game, the impossible happened: a clear 3-0 victory against FC Eintracht Lokstedt II.
This important victory was not only the first for the Cosmos since the last triumph on May 7, 2023, when they won 4: 2 against VfL Pinneberg, but also the seventh overall at the district level. The hope for a turn of the season germinates after the players were under considerable pressure in the first few weeks.
unexpected game conditions
An interesting turn occurred when the people responsible from Cosmos informed about moving to the Elbestadion before the game. Due to a youth tournament that took place at the same time, the game had to be played in the "artificial turf cage". However, this short -term change did not prevent the players preventing their performance and asserting themselves. Felix Mühlich converted a controversial penalty in the 80th minute and thus ensured the redeeming 1-0 lead.
The leadership gave the Wedelern further buoyancy. Just three minutes later, Andreas Peuser used a mistake on the defensive of the Lokstedter and increased to 2: 0. His performance crowned in the 85th minute with his second goal, which secured the final score of 3-0. The Lokstedter described their third season defeat as "very bitter, but the bottom line", and recognized the courageous style of play of the Cosmos.
a new attempt for cosmos
COSMOS coach Guido Krenzk was optimistic after the game and was positive about the return of the injured players: "We are finally slowly back on board again." He referred to the difficulties that his predecessor Chris Coskunmeric discussed last season, and was pleased that most key players were able to return. Only Leif-Thore Peters and Viktor Terplan were still missing due to vacation or injury.
Krenzk emphasized the need to further stabilize the team: "We are still in a process of finding. But it is fun to work with the boys - because those who are there are also accelerating in training." The team showed a closed performance on Sunday and proved that it cannot be got down despite the pressure situation.
The closed team performance was praised on the social media channels of the "Cosmonauten", which showed a concentrated, focused and duel performance even at large temperatures. "That makes you want more," says the positive response of the players and the coaching staff.
Sieg could be a turning point for the SC Cosmos Wedel in the season and bring the necessary motivation to assert itself in the further course of the league and to learn from the previous setbacks. In the near future it will be shown whether this sense of achievement is the beginning of a wave of success and the team can stabilize from now on.
