Rubbing drama in Brandenburg: SPD victory thanks to AfD preventers!
The results of the recent state election in Brandenburg provided some surprises and interesting insights into the election behavior of the citizens. While Dietmar Woidke and his SPD were able to defend their place as the strongest force in the state parliament with 30.9 percent of the votes, re -election surveys revealed that many of the voters did not vote for the SPD. Rather, they wanted to prevent a strong AfD.
Only 25 percent of the SPD voters stated that the party was convinced that 75 percent said that they had made their cross with the Social Democrats "to prevent a strong AfD". The situation is similar with the CDU, which received 12.1 percent of the vote: 59 percent of their voters also wanted to weaken the AfD.
interesting developments and new balance of power
One of the big surprises of the election evening was the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), which immediately reached 13.5 percent of the vote and thus became the third strongest force in the new state parliament. It is particularly exciting that 31 percent of BSW voters provide Dimap according to Infratest Dimap that they have chosen the AfD without this election option. This could ultimately cost the AfD the election victory.
The AfD reached 29.2 percent and landed just behind the SPD. The Greens and the left also suffered significant losses and missed the five percent hurdle, which means that they are no longer represented in the new state parliament.
